I often end up baking, sometimes cooking for each letter. This chocolate cake recipe is from Smitten Kitchen, a very reliable source in my opinion

 

Chemistry as demonstrated by a salt-dough volcano we made for the concoction of baking soda and vinegar--the kids really enjoyed decorating with plants from our garden and a plastic dinosaur

Calendars: we drew images of something related to each month at the bottom of some free online printable calendars (that printed way smaller than expected) but this was a good way to see when family birthdays would be, holidays, and when each letter fell on what day for school
